Rather frighteningly, the Grange was found to have a smoking light fixture in the main hall last month. Thanks so much to the individual who spotted and reported it!
On inspection, most of the ancient florescent fixtures had leaking ballasts, a clear fire hazard.
Thanks to those of you who donated funds to help us buy new LED fixtures that are safe, more energy efficient, give off a better light, and better fit the look of the otherwise charming building. Thanks also to Al who installed them all!
The total cost for the entire project (10 fixtures) was about $900 and we raised $250. If you are inclined to contribute, you can do so by donating to the “Grange Maintenance Fund”.
Next up: giving the ceiling a fresh coat of paint and maybe getting the new lights on a dimmer switch.
Thank you!
